Starter Colony Scheme 2010
In 2009 FDBKA agreed it would assist both existing members to re-start and help new members get started in the world of Bee Keeping. With the heavy losses of 2008/09 it is possible that some existing members may of lost all of their colonies going into 2010, this combined with the high uptake of new members means the collaborative efforts of FDBKA members to provide starter colonies is more important than ever. This scheme has been introduced to provide one colony to to a new member and any member who may of lost all of their colonies.

I hope by the end of 2010 to have matching numbers !
Donated colonies should be of a suitable size, disease free and be of reasonably good temperament and also include details of any treatments given to the parent hive.
