 Hive Guide

When I first started seriously thinking about taking up bee keeping in 2008, I looked around on the net and found very little about the common types of hives in use in the UK, so as the bee keeping 2009 season came to an end. I started to put together a simple guide for all bee keepers to give the reader an idea of the different types of hives they could use.

This is a free guide to any one who wants to download it. Click on the guide to open a pdf file

 Top Bar Hives

When I first started looking into which type of hive I should start bee keeping with, I really liked the principles of the Top Bar Hive (TBH) although it wouldn't of been practical. Now I have some experiance and I feel confident on how to solve most problems I will start one and as the season progresses I may expand upto 3-4. If you are interested to learn a little more about this style of hive and the methods and principles of how they work I created this simple guide.

Some minor changes may still be made to correct any errors.
